# Opening the Client

To open Polarity after it has been minimized or closed follow the below instructions depending on your operating system:

1. Open system tray
2. Right click on the Polarity icon
3. Click `Polarity Overlay`
4. You can also double-click the icon in the system tray to open the application

1. Click on the Polarity icon in the menu bar and select `Polarity Overlay`
2. Right click on the Polarity icon in the dock and select `Polarity OVerlay`

1.Click on the Polarity icon in the menu bar and select `Polarity Overlay`

The Polarity desktop application will continue to run even when the Polarity Overlay is closed.

To completely exit the application navigate to the Polarity Overlay drop-down menu and select **`Quit`**.
